The Heart Nebula, or IC 1805, is a massive emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia which owes its ruby-red hue to ionized hydrogen gas. At the center of the Heart is the Melotte 15 open cluster, which contains blue, young supergiant stars that are ionizing the nebula and sculpting its fine dust pillars. Love is truly in the air… or rather, in the sky!
