Located 1,300 light years away, the great Orion Nebula is one of the most iconic stellar nurseries in the night sky. Over millions of years, hot, young stars are forged there in a fury of hydrogen clouds and gravity. Through a narrowband filter, the star-making secrets of the Orion Nebula are dramatically revealed as wispy tendrils of gas sculpted by intense stellar radiation and bright regions illuminated by nuclear fusion.
