Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is the brightest long period comet since C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE), back in 2020. Coming from the Oort cloud, a body of icy planetesimals 2,000-100,000 AU away, this comet had an incredible inbound orbital period of 50,000 years! Additionally, ZTF has a high abundance of C2, which creates its wonderful green color!
